Shaw must go down as one of the
most improved players at Highfield Road last season.
The central defender played 33 Premiership games and, in the later months of the
campaign, formed a useful partnership with Gary Breen.
The central defender 30 in September had been a one-club man before Ron
Atkinson brought him to Highfield Road. He joined local club Crystal Palace from school
and had nine seasons at Selhurst Park before moving back into the top flight with City.
He has been a consistent performer at centre-half but has also proved himself to be a
superb man-marker and has also operated effectively at full-back.
