The rugged Republic of Ireland
international has been battling his way back from a cruciate ligament injury that has kept
him out of first team action for 18 months.
Daish started his career with home town club Portsmouth but made just one first team
appearance before moving to Cambridge where he played alongside Dion Dublin.
He was a key part of the clubs rise up the league under John Beck and helped put
City out of the FA Cup in a replay at the Abbey Stadium.
Birmingham City paid £500,000 for his services in 1994 and he had two seasons there
before Ron Atkinson signed him up.
