in September 1998 and still training as hard as anyone in the club. He set a new record
for club appearances when he passed George Curtis' record in 1996-97 and at the start of
the current season he had reached 585.
He also played 107 first team games for Chesterfield, Liverpool and Shrewsbury Town
before signing for City in June 1984 for £82,000.
Fought back from a broken leg in 1995.
Honoured with the PFA Award of Merit for services to football at the annual awards
dinner and also collected a prize at the Football Writers Association awards.
