The Coventry
trio reported to the FA for misconduct following the mass brawl in the dugout area at
Chelsea have requested personal hearings.
Manager Gordon Strachan, goalkeeper coach Jim Blyth and player Noel Whelan are waiting
for the FA to notify them of a date for their hearings.
Strachan has repeatedly protested his innocence and claims video evidence will clear
him. He was sent off by the match referee Jeff Winter after the fracas. Three members of
Chelseas staff were also charged with misconduct.
Strachan was cited for his general conduct during the game and for stepping outside the
designated coaching area.
Meanwhile duo
Gary McAllister and Noel Whelan are just one booking away from picking up bans.
City skipper McAllister picked up his fourth caution of the season when he was booked
for handball in the 0-0 draw at Tottenham on Saturday. One more transgression will leave
him with a one-match ban.
Whelan, who was yellow carded eight minutes from time for a foul on Mauricio Taricco,
has now been cautioned seven times and will also serve a one-match suspension if he picks
up another booking.
Paul Telfer, who has already served two bans this season, edged closure to a third and
an appearance before the FA with his first half booking his ninth of the season.
George Boateng and David Burrows, who both missed the White Hart Lane game, will be
back for the fifth round FA Cup tie at Everton on Saturday.
The City youth team will be back in the spotlight again on tomorrow night when they
take on Notts County in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.
The Sky Blues needed a replay to overcome Brighton in the previous stage and earn
themselves another chance to impress at Highfield Road.
The game kicks off at 7pm and the Main Stand will once again be open to the public.
The under-19s went down 4-0 at West Ham this weekend. It was supposed to be a free
weekend in the Premier Youth Leagues but the date with the Hammers was a re-arranged game.
There are still around 1,000 tickets left for the home game with Manchester United on
20 February.
The tickets are sold in a two-match package along with home game with Wimbledon on 1
May.
