A dismal performance, capped by the dismissal of
David Thompson, drove another nail into the lid of City's promotion
hopes coffin.
Coventry survived in tact for the first 45 minutes, but shortly
after the break a seven minute whirlwind left them three goals down
and effectively out of the title race.
Wolves pre-Christmas signing, Dean Sturridge, did the damage
netting two before Cameron wrapped it up with a third on 56 minutes.
It could have been one goal worse for City after Breen fouled
Blake in the box. A small ray of luck shone on Coventry as Blake
wacked the spot kick wide.
Thompson then put the sour cream on Nilsson's bitter day by
getting sent off for a second bookable offence after a late
challenge on Oakes. The former Liverpool midfielder is now therefore
likely to miss three games through suspension.
Ten man Coventry did manage a consolation goal in injury time
when Carsley's corner went in the net off Wolves defender Lescott
and sub Boothroyd - the latter laying claim to the goal.
