INJURIES
: KEEPER
CRISIS
Coventry are facing a keeper
crisis ahead of their game against Walsall on Sunday.
Their first three choices - Magnus
Hedman, Andy Goram and Morten Hyldegaard - are all out
injured.
Youth team keeper Gary Montgomery
made a surprise debut in the game against Chelsea last night
after Hedman had a hamstring problem in the warm-up minutes
before kick-off.
The 19 year old couldn't be
blamed for either of the Chelsea goals but Nilsson will not want
to risk going into Sunday's game without any other keeper cover.
If the news from the treatment
room doesn't look promising over the next 24 hours Nilsson is
likely to make a move for a loan keeper for short-term cover.
Loan candidates may include Mark
Bosnich (Chelsea), Tim Flowers (Leicester City) and Stephen
Bywater (West Ham) all of whom are struggling to get first team
action with their respective clubs.
GARY
BREEN : SOUTHAMPTON TARGET?
Southampton boss Stuart Gray is
reported to be about to make a £3.5 million bid for Irish
international Gary
Breen.
The Coventry centre-back is being
seen as an ideal replacement for Dean Richards who recently left
the Saints for Spurs in a £8.1 million deal.
Southampton have apparently had
their scouts watching Breen over the last month but they have
held off making a move while he recovered from a hamstring
strain.
With Breen now fully fit
Southampton may be about to make an offer.
Breen might however prefer to
hang on at Highfield Road until the summer when he can leave on
a Bosman free transfer. If he performs well in the World Cup
finals his valuation may be increased.
Breen's agent is Sky Andrew who
also acts for Sol Campbell.
