Hartson Move
Is Off And On Again
The
yo-yoing surrounding John Hartson’s possible move to Coventry
is continuing, with different sides claiming that the deal is on
and off.
The
player was seen at Highfield Road yesterday to resume talks over
his proposed move from Wimbledon.
A
£5 million switch broke down last month when Cedric Roussel
refused to move in the opposite direction as part of the deal.
Coventry
City, desperate for goals, now say that they have re-opened
discussions with a view to paying the entire sum in cash.
But
Hartson’s agent Jonathon Barnett said the deal is dead:
"It's
all been speculation and paper talk - ifs, whats and
maybes."
Meanwhile
Cedric Roussel, who lashed out at the Coventry City board over
the pressure they put him under to go to Wimbledon, is now a
target for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves
assistant manager John Ward said:
"The
deal is still ongoing, we're still involved with Coventry on
this.
"We've
put in a telephone enquiry basically to see what the situation
is at Coventry's end and we're just waiting to see what they
say."
