Family Stays Away As Strachan Squirms
Civil
war continues to rage at Coventry City after Gordon Strachan
admits that his family no longer come to watch the club play
because of the abuse he gets from fans.
His
comments follow angry criticism of the players by club chairman
Bryan Richardson.
Fans
barracked Strachan following Saturday’s defeat at home to
Everton calling him for to go after another terrible performance
by the Sly Blues.
The
boss admits that it was the worst his team had played in his
four years in control – an admission he has made several times
this season as Coventry have slipped to second-bottom in the
premiership.
And
he as revealed that his family no longer come to watch Coventry
at Highfield Road because of the abuse.
Strachan
said:
"It
is a horrible thing in life to be embarrassed by what you do
for a living, but I was against Everton at the weekend.
"My
family don't come to the games any more. My wife felt better
when I was a player because at least I was on the field and
could do something about it when things were going wrong. I
don't think she feels great when I am isolated out
there."
