Stamps Of 1987 Triumph On Sale
Stamps
marking Coventry City’s 1987 FA Cup victory have gone on sale
on the internet.
The
sheets of 20 unused mint stamps show pictures of the Sky Blues
celebrating their win.
They
were produced as part of a series of stamps commemorating great
FA Cup moments. They were not on sale in this country, but were
made for some of the British dependencies.
The
stamps, which are on offer for around £4, are available on the
eBay auction site.
There
are four different lots:
A
picture of the team celebrating the win, with each stamp having
a face value of 15p
An
action shot showing Cyrille Regis taking on Ossie Ardiles and
Chris Houghton from Spurs and a £2 stamp of captain Brian
Kilcline raising the trophy
The
Coventry City badge next to the England Three Lions Crest. Each
stamp has a face value of 19p.
Gary
Mabbutt, scorer of the famous extra-time own goal, tackling
City’s Dave Bennett.
