Elliott Faces Probe Over Elbowing Bellamy
Leicester
City skipper Matt Elliott faces an FA investigation over
allegations that he elbowed the Sky Blues’ Craig Bellamy in
Sunday’s game.
The
Football Association today announced that it was to examine the
video of the game after receiving reports that the Scottish
international struck Bellamy in the head.
The
incident has sparked a war of words between the two camps.
Coventry midfielder David Thompson has called Elliott
“dangerous” and called for his punishment.
The
former Liverpool player recalled a similar incident involving
Michael Owen last season, who suffered concussion after a
collision with Elliott.
Leicester
boss Peter Taylor has defended his man, saying that he believes
the clash was an accident.
Elliott
has claimed he sometimes collides with smaller players if they
only come to his elbows, but it is not intentional.
