Jordan: I'm Not City SaviourFormula
One supremo Eddie Jordan has denied rumours that he is about to
invest in Coventry City.
Whisperings
that the Sky Blues fan Eddie Jordan is to invest in Coventry City,
but only if Terry Venables is made manager, have been gathering pace.
Alleged
sightings of Venables at various locations, including Highfield
Road itself, fuelled speculation that there is to be a
shake-up at the club.
Jordan,
the owner of the eponymous formula one team, has been a Sky
Blues fan for years and is potentially a wealthy benefactor for
the club, which has counted on the support of city MP Geoffrey
Robinson in the past.
And
following a string of poor results, the pressure on manger
Gordon Strachan could intensify if the Sky Blues suffer another
defeat this weekend at the hands of Aston Villa.
Coventry
City chairman Bryan Richardson has denied Jordan is getting involved in the club, but was unavailable for
comment.
But
a spokesman for the Jordan team said that the rumours were
baseless.
The
spokesman told CWN:
"Eddie Jordan is a Coventry City fan, but any rumours you may have heard about him investing in the Club are totally unfounded.
"He enjoys football, but is not interested in making any financial investment in it."
