Coventry City have been linked with an attacking midfielder from Australia, while transfer rumours have started surrounding Youssef Chippo and Gary Breen.

There are unconfirmed reports that Andrew Gurney, dubbed “the next Harry Kewell” will be coming to England to sign for the Sky Blues from the Melbourne Knights.

Gurney had been expected to sign for Liverpool, but it is thought that he would prefer to play at a club with a greater chance of first team action.

Cash-strapped Portsmouth are believed to have their eye on Gary Breen in case the unsettled defender wants out from Highfield Road, although he has just won his place back in the side, and has been turning in some sterling performances for the Republic of Ireland.
