Stalwart left-back David
Burrows is leaving Coventry City after accepting an offer form
Birmingham City.
He will sign for the Blues
next month when his contract with Gordon Strachan’s side ends.
Burrows, aged 31, had been
offered a new deal, but wanted the promise of regular first team
football.
He lost his place in the
starting line-up last season when he was out with injury and has found
it hard to get back in the side.
He was at Highfield Road for
four years following his £1.1 million move from Everton.
Coventry chairman Bryan
Richardson has said he will listen to offers for centre-back Gary
Breen, but has dismissed talk of a £2 million move to Ipswich as
undervalued.
The chairman is hoping to sign
Don Hutchison from Everton and Niclas Alexandersson from relegated
Sheffield Wednesday, but faces competition for both signatures.
Peter
Reid is known to have been in the frame for Hutchison for a long time,
while Alexandersson will attract a lot of interest despite Sweden’s
failure at Euro 2000.
