Luck Deserts The Irish In Windy Draw
Coventry
City’s Irish stars had to battle in strong winds in Boston, but
could only get a draw against the United States.
Gary
Breen was pressed into action against former Sky Blue Cobi Jones when
he managed to stifle him in a threatened break on goal.
Barry
Quinn only made a brief appearance, coming on as a substitute just
before the end.
More
worryingly for Coventry, Robbie Keane missed the game with a groin
injury.
Cobi
Jones equalled the record number of caps for a United States player,
when he made his 128th appearance.
With
winds reaching 60mph, the game was less than fluent, and Chicago Fire
forward Ante Razov scored from an off-side position to wipe out
Dominic Foley’s opener for the Irish.
Meanwhile
Morocco lost 1-5 to France, but neither Moustapha Hadji nor Youseef
Chippo were in action for the home team.
