Hondurans Line Up For Sky Blue Move
Coventry City are being linked with
Honduran internationals Ivan Guerrero and Amado Guevara.
Sky Blues chairman Bryan Richardson has
been in Central America talent spotting, and watched Honduras beat
Haiti 4-0.
Left-sided Guerrero is reported to be
close to signing a deal with City later this month, according to
reports in the media in Honduras.
And central-midfield player Amado
Guevara also caught the eye. His agent said that the player was to
decide between Ipswich and Coventry.
Richardson was also on hand to watch
Ysrael Zuniga come through a full match against Brazil in a World Cup
qualifier in Lima.
Zuniga, in the starting line-up because
of striker Claudio Pizarro’s suspension, was unable to get though the
Brazilian defence as the away team won 1-0.
Peru are now sixth in their World Cup
qualifying group, with only the first four certain of a trip to Japan
and South Korea. The fifth-placed team plays off with the winners of
the Oceania group for another spot.
Noel Whelan, the source of much
transfer speculation, is now being suggested as a contender for a move
to newly-promoted Charlton.
The unsettled striker, who has failed
to secure a first team spot, has also been linked with Derby and
Manchester City.
And
there are also rumours that unsettled Everton and Scotland striker Don
Hutchinson could be on
his way to Highfield Road in a £3m summer deal.
However,
other sources say he is close to signing for Peter Reid at Sunderland.
