Williams And Roussel Doubtful For LeedsPaul Williams and Cedric Roussel could both be in danger of missing
the trip to title-chasing Leeds United on Sunday.
The duo have stayed behind for treatment at the Sky Blue
Lodge training ground while the rest of the squad have headed out to the La Manga training
complex in Spain.
Williams came off at half time in Saturdays 1-0
defeat against Spurs suffering with a calf strain while Belgian Roussel is recovering from
the concussion he suffered at Middlesbrough 10 days ago.
But Paul Telfer, who injured a knee tendon at Old Trafford
early in the month, is running again and could be involved in the squad along with Tomas
Gustaffson who has recovered from the knee injury sustained a week ago while on
international duty.
Meanwhile the City Youth Team have another chance to
progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup when they travel to face Derby County at the
Baseball Ground tonight.
The two teams drew 0-0 at Highfield Road a week ago despite
the visitors being reduced to nine men for more than half an hour.
The under-17s and 19s came through unscathed at the weekend
giving selectors a full squad to choose from.
Striker David Brush scored again for the under-17s as they
drew 1-1 at Liverpool, while the under-19s went down 3-2 on Merseyside with Chukki
Eribenne and Steve McPhee getting the goals.
Trevor Gould, of the Soccer Academy, said the youngsters
are desperate to improve on last weeks performance.
He said:
"Everyone was very disappointed and the players feel
they cant play much worse than they did at Highfield Road.
"They knew they had not given a good account of
themselves and had failed to show just how well they can play. It is up to them to make
sure they pick things up for the return game.
"You have to give Derby County credit because they
defended very well but we should have had enough to break them down and we didnt. It
is something our players have to learn from and hopefully they have."
