Coventry City’s hopes of chalking up their first away win of the
Premiership season were dashed when their game at Middlesbrough fell
victim to the weather.
Boro’s Riverside Stadium pitch, which does not have undersoil
heating, was frozen in places overnight and deemed unplayable when it
was inspected at 1.30pm.
The team had travelled up overnight in preparation for the game and
were due to return this evening. No date has been fixed for the
re-arranged game.
The postponement forced Gordon Strachan to change his training
plans, and the squad will now be put through their paces tomorrow and
Friday at the Sky Blue Lodge ahead of the home clash with Chelsea next
week.
