Coventry City winger
Stephen Froggatt has promised Sky Blues fans that the team will not rest on their laurels
despite a thumping win over Watford.
The former Wolves man put in one of his best performances since he joined the club to
help stretch Citys unbeaten Premiership run to five games, but says they must now
prepare for Saturdays trip to Bradford.
"The Watford result will be a complete waste of time if we go to Bradford on
Saturday and fall flat on our faces, it will have meant absolutely nothing," he said.
"The boys are working really hard on the training ground and I am sure that will
continue this week and get prepared well, and we will give it another really good go on
Saturday."
And Froggatt believes that despite Citys inability to secure a victory away from
home so far this campaign, things are a lot better than in previous years.
He said:
"Not being able to win away from home was a problem we had last year but at least
this season we are not getting beaten, and we took comfort from the fact that we have
gained several good points on our travels.
"If we can get points away from home and keep winning at home then by the end of
the season out total will look quite good."
The pacy midfielder believes that the key to City's current success has been their
miserly defending their defence has been breached just once in the last three
games.
He said:
"I think the most important thing on Sunday was that we had another clean sheet,
if we can keep doing that and defend as a team like we have been doing then we will be
alright.
"Magnus has been superb these last few weeks and that has eradicated one of the
problems we had last season which was conceding too many and putting too much pressure on
the forwards.
"When you are keeping clean sheets you are always going to have a chance of
winning games, especially with players like Robbie Keane and Noel Whelan in your
side."
