Coventry
City today announced a repeat package for the home game with Manchester United designed to
give Sky Blue supporters priority on tickets.
Tickets for the home game on Wednesday 25 August will be sold in a two-match package
with tickets for the home game with Watford on Sunday 31 October.
The move follows an experiment with the United and Wimbledon games last season, which
saw hardly any Red fans in the home areas, something that had been a problem in previous
years.
Tickets go on priority sale from Monday 19 July to current season ticket holders,
executive club members and members. A maximum of two tickets (for each game) per member
may be bought. All tickets are subject to availability.
Any remaining tickets will be placed on general sale on 2 August on the two match
package basis.
Ticket office manager Jamie Roberts said:
"The idea is to restrict home area tickets for home fans and it worked very well
last year. We had a very good response from supporters for both games.
"In the past we had tried various measures to stop away fans buying up home
tickets but it still happened.
"Other clubs have introduced similar packages for high profile games and they have
proved successful in making sure that areas for home fans are exactly that."
