Coventry City
are reportedly targeting Benfica’s former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Mark
Pembridge for a fee of around £500,000.
Earlier this week Sky Blues chairman Bryan Richardson revealed that City were close to
making a signing and Welsh international Pembridge appears to be the target.
The 28-year-old left-sided midfielder almost joined the Highfield Road side two seasons
ago in a £1.5 million swap deal with David Burrows but the deal fell through.
Pembridge, who has also played for Luton and Derby, is thought to be looking for a
return to England with several Premiership clubs charting his progress.
