Gordon Strachan
has stamped on speculation that linked goalkeeper Magnus Hedman with Manchester United.
Media reports said United were prepared to pay £5 million for the Swedish No.1 as
replacement for Peter Schmeichel, who is retiring from the game when his contract expires
at the end of the season.
Hedman said:
"It is flattering to be linked with the biggest club in the world, but I know
nothing about this at all."
The 25 year old Swedish No.1 has quickly earned a reputation as one of the
Premierships hottest keepers and has been in outstanding form for his country.
That has prompted links with United but Strachan has heard nothing from his former boss
Alex Ferguson.
He said:
"I can confirm there have been no approaches for any of my players since Aston
Villa asked about George Boateng more than a month ago."
