Sky
Blues winger Steve Froggatt today denied the rumours linking City stars with moves to
Aston Villa could cause unrest in the Highfield Road dressing room.
Sky Blues
chairman Bryan Richardson has reported Villa to the Football Association and Premier
League to an alleged illegal approach to Dutch midfielder George Boateng.
And then on Sunday, Noel Whelan was linked with a £7 million move to John
Gregorys men.
But Froggatt killed off any possibilities of the rumours knocking Citys survival
fight off the rails.
He said:
"Certain people are trying to disrupt the club and cause trouble. I dont
think the lads are disrupted by it but I think it is unfortunate that things like this
have come into the press.
"I am sure the two will get it out of their minds. People put rumours around all
the time in football. You cant blame players for that, its not their fault. It
is people trying to stir up trouble but it wont affect the squad or anyone else at
the club."
Gary
McAllister will discover in the next 48 hours if he has won a return to international
football.
The City skipper, currently nursing an ankle injury, is expected to be named in the
Scotland team to face Bosnia in a European Championship qualifier on 27 March.
