SEP 99] COVENTRY CATHEDRAL PRESS RELEASE
Coventry Homes Celebrates Silver Anniversary At Coventry CathedralResidents, staff and supporters of Coventry Homes will gather in
Coventry Cathedral this evening for a special thanksgiving service to celebrate their
silver anniversary.
Coventry Homes was founded 25 years ago to provide respite
support to families who faced the challenge that a disability presents.
The service is a celebration of all the special projects
that Coventry Homes has established, all with the objective of encouraging individuals to
reach their potential in all aspects of life.
The philosophy of Coventry Homes is a belief in the rights
of people with learning disabilities to achieve as full a life as possible. Coventry Homes
has played a major role in enabling people with learning difficulties to live in
ordinary houses in ordinary streets.
Newpath Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coventry
Homes, has given residents worthwhile day time activities through training and employment
in a variety of industries.
Many Coventrians are familiar with the Gallery Team Room at
the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. Newpath Nursery, with its recently developed café,
has established itself as a state of the art facility. Many local businesses use the
services of Newpath Laundry and of the packaging services offered by Newpath Services.
