WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
New Plan For Growing Warwickshire's
EconomyToday sees the publication of
Warwickshire County's new Economic Statement. This sets out the County's intentions for
the next year and its spending plans for economic development.
The £1.6m programme includes services to help small
businesses, a campaign to promote new inward investment and a co-ordinated approach to the
economic and social regeneration of the County's most deprived areas, including West
Nuneaton and Old Town Leamington. A key feature of the plan is the amount of work being
done in partnership with other organisations.
Councillor Derek Forwood, Chairman of the Economic
Development Sub-Committee said:
"The new plan fits in with the strategy for the
sub-region framed by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnerships and is the product of a
consultation with our partners and local interests carried out earlier in the year. Now in
its final form, it will guide our work for the next year."
The plan is being carried circulated widely to many local
organisations, community groups and local companies. As a sign of the Council's commitment
to new technology it can also be downloaded and browsed on the Warwickshire web site: www.warwickshire.gov.uk
