Foot And Mouth Spreads
Near Coventry
The
area running along the north of Coventry deemed to be at risk from foot
and mouth disease has been extended following another case of the virus
near Nuneaton.
Parts
of north east Warwickshire have now been included in the area with severe
restrictions in place after a case was discovered at a farm at Wykin, near
Fenny Drayton.
Government
officials have extended the original infected area to take new the case
into account. It now stretches over to the M1 near Lutterworth, and goes
as far west as Stoke-on-Trent. CLICK

All
footpaths in Warwickshire, and paths and parks in Coventry that are on the
city boundary have been closed for over a week.
It
is illegal to walk in areas where posters have been put up telling people
to keep out. In infected areas, such as Bedworth, Nuneaton and Atherstone,
dogs must be kept on leads as they can spread the virus.
