DISTRICT COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
New Flood Fund OpenedAnyone In Need Can
Apply Insured or Not.
The Council of Voluntary Services have received donations from the District and County
Councils totalling about £10,000, to be used for the ongoing relief of victims of the
Easter floods.
This fund has been set up to help you. If you have suffered financially as a result of
the floods please use it. There have been relatively few applications so far.
Any private individual in financial need as a direct result of the flood, whether
insured or not, can apply. (Businesses however are not currently being considered.) The
fund can give up to a maximum of £250
To apply fill out a form which can be obtained from either;
- CVS, 109 Warwick Street, Leamington Spa, CV32 4QZ (881151)
- St Marys Church Office, St Marys Road, Leamington Spa, CV31 1JP (778505)
- Citizens Advice Bureau, 28 Hamilton Terrace, Leamington Spa, CV32 4LY (421447)
You will need to give a brief description of the flood damage to your property; list
the items you wish to claim for; state briefly why you are in need of this money. You will
also need to give the name referee, who can confirm your situation (eg local Councillor,
leader of a community group, representative of a local church, doctor, social worker etc.)
They will be asked to guarantee that you have spent the money on the items you have
specified, by verifying the receipt. If you do not know anyone who can fulfil this role
for you, contact St Marys Church who will be pleased to send someone to discuss it
with you.
Once you have returned your form you should hear within 10 14 days whether you
have been successful or not.
