JAN 99] STRATFORD ON AVON DISTRICT COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
Welford Planning EnquiryA planning inquiry
starts next Tuesday, 12 January, following an appeal by Cala Homes (Midlands) Ltd against
refusal of planning permission to build 16 new houses at Welford-on-Avon, Warwickshire.
The application proposes to build 16 two-storey houses and
garages, with new pedestrian and vehicle access, and landscaping on land off Chapel Street
in Welford.
Stratford District Council has refused the application on
grounds of highway safety and adverse effects on the conservation area.
The inquiry, expected to last for two days, will be held at
the council offices, Elizabeth House, in Church Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, starting at
10.00am. A government planning inspector will preside over the inquiry.
Members of the public may attend the inquiry and express
their views - at the discretion of the inspector.
