Shopmobility Celebrates First BirthdayStratford's
Shopmobility will be celebrating its first birthday on Thursday 3 December as well as
receiving a new wheelchair which has been bought by the Stratford Lions.
The Stratford Lions have bought the new wheelchair out of
charity donations.
Stratford's Shopmobility now has over 186 members,
including international members from Australia, Canada and Florida. Membership also
stretches across the country as well as across the District. The oldest member is 98 years
old.
The service is provided and funded by Stratford District
Council, but it also relies on donations as the hire of scooters and wheelchairs is free.
To date the donations box has raised a total of £370; and some of that money, along with
District Council funds, has bought a wheelchair .
