Lottery Cash on Offer in South Warwickshire
Cash is up for grabs across
South Warwickshire under a new lottery scheme to help fund projects
that involve people in the local community.
The main aim of Awards
for All is to fund projects which involve people in their local
community, bringing them together to take part in and enjoy a wide
range of arts, sports, heritage, charitable and other community
activities.
The programme is
supported by the National Lottery Charities Board, the Heritage
Lottery Fund, Sport England and the Arts Council of England.
People running schemes
that need financial help between £500 and £5,000 are encouraged to
apply to Stratford District Council, which is coordinating bids in its
area.
A council spokesman
said:
“This programme aims
to make a real difference to smaller groups and strengthen community
activity. The emphasis is on projects where a small sum of money can
make a big impact.
“Awards for All grants
can be used for projects such as putting on an event or activity,
providing training courses, setting up a pilot project, running a
conference or seminar, special repairs or conservation work, start
up costs, publicity materials, professional fees, research costs,
equipment and materials, transport costs and volunteer expenses.”
Last time the project
ran, some £163,600 was shared between 60 community groups.
