BOROUGH COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE
Country Shops InitiativeBirdingbury Village
Store and Post Office is receiving a £5,000 grant to assist with improvements to
facilities.
This is the first grant to be made in the Rugby area under
the Country Shops Initiative which is funded by Rugby Borough Council working in
partnership with the Rural Development Commission, Warwickshire County Council and the
other Warwickshire District Councils.
The aim of the scheme is to improve and help maintain the
services provided by country stores for local residents. Proposals are approved and
50% of the funding is allocated under the scheme. The Birdingbury scheme
incorporates the redesigning of the whole sales area so that shopping will be a more
enjoyable experience for local people.
