NOV 00] NUNEATON & BEDWORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL NEWS
Judgement Day Nears For Stadium
People
living near the proposed new stadium that is being planned by Nuneaton
Borough will be able to have their say on the development at a special
meeting next month.
The
application is to be considered by a special meeting of the Planning
and Development Committee on 15 December at 5pm.
Nuneaton
Borough, who tonight face Stoke in a replay of the first round of the
FA Cup, have been drawing up plans for new facilities since they made
it into the Conference.
The
plans for a £4.2 million new stadium on land adjoining Eliot Park and
Bermuda Road have attracted a lot of controversy, and the meeting is
being held in the council chamber to allow more people access.
The
meeting is to be relayed to nearby committee rooms to make up for the
lack of space in the chamber.
But
the council has decided to restrict public speakers to one hour before
the councillors make their decision.
Each
speaker is being given a maximum of three minutes. If there are more
than 20 speakers, names will be drawn out of a hat at random.
People
who want to speak at the meeting should give notice in advance by
calling Mick Dyer either by phone, on 024 7637 6325, or in writing, by
5pm, on Friday 1 December.
