People living in Coventry and
Warwickshire are being urged to have their say in the biggest
consultation ever on the NHS.
Nuneaton MP Bill Olner has
said that he hopes people living in the area take advantage of the
opportunity to put their views forward about the future of the health
service.
The government has announced a
mammoth consultation exercise among staff and patients to find out
what the NHS should be aiming to achieve.
The information will be drawn
up into a national plan of action to improve the service.
Mr Olner said the leaflets
asking people’s views have already been distributed through
Nuneaton.
Every hospital and GP surgery
has them, as well as chemists and supermarkets.
The consultation will run
until the middle of June.
Mr Olner said:
“In the Budget we
announced the biggest-ever sustained spending increase in the
history of the NHS.
“It means that over the
next four years the NHS will grow by a third.
“This gives us a once in a
lifetime chance to create a 21st century NHS that puts people first,
and we want everyone to help us do it.
“This
is an extremely important matter and I urge everyone in the Nuneaton
constituency to make their opinion known. So please take this chance
to have your say.”
