Coventry girls can get basketball tips from a top coach at a free session next week.

A Coventry Crusaders coach will lead a special free basketball session at the Midlands Sports Centre on Thursday 11 March aiming to inspire more girls to take up the sport. Girls of all ages and abilities are invited to attend.

Cllr Dave Edwards, Chair of the Sports and Parks Policy Team, said today:

"This is a great opportunity for girls to try out the sport with support and advice from one of basketball’s top coaches. If this session proves popular, it could lead to a regular slot for girls’ basketball at the Centre."

The session runs from 6 – 7pm and girls are invited to just come along. It has been organised jointly by the City’s Sports Development Team, Midlands Sports Centre and Coventry Crusaders and is one of many activities taking place in the city during Coventry Women’s Festival. 6 – 13 March 1999.
