Learn How To Be Family Friendly
Employers
from Coventry and Warwickshire will gather in the city next week
to find out how to become more family friendly in dealing with
their staff.
Information
has been put together by Coventry City Council and Warwickshire
County Council to explain how to make it easier for parents to
carry on working.
Eighty
employers will be at The Chamber of Commerce, Training and
Enterprise on Tuesday for the launch of the resources, which
includes a poster and a leaflet.
Teams
that have been set up in Coventry and Warwickshire to provide free
information to employers, parents and childcare providers.
Cllr
Dave Batten, cabinet member (Development and Renewal), said:
"Juggling
a family and a career can be difficult and stressful and at
times near impossible. But that's where employers come in.
“They
have a key role to play in making it easier for parents and
carers to work and the investment they make in their employees
is the most important investment they can make.
“And
there are benefits for the companies too - productivity and
moral will increase, levels of sick leave will fall and they
will widen the recruitment pool and help retain staff.
“This
important launch will point local employers in the right
direction, so they know exactly where to go to get good quality
information and support so they can make the right choices for
them as businesses and for their existing and potential
employees.
“And
the fact that over 80 companies are attending shows just how
much of an important issue this is."
The
Children's Information Teams in Coventry has an up-to-date
reference library and a huge database of information and advice on
local childcare provision, childcare options and what's new on the
legislation front.
