Simon To Look At What Affects The Disabled
Disabled
people are being sought to take part in research on the impact their
impairment has on their identity and lifestyle.
Simon
Stevens, aged 26, from Coventry, has received a Scope Millennium Award
to carry out unique research into the subject.
Simon,
who has cerebral palsy and runs his own disability consultancy
company, is using his award of nearly £5,000 to examine how and why
disabled people choose how they live and the daily equipment and
assistance they use.
To
pursue his research, Simon requires 15 disabled participants from the
Midlands area to take part. Each participant must be willing to take
part in 3 interviews over a six month period.
Anyone
interested in receiving further details can contact Simon at the
address shown above. The closing date for applications will be 10th
November 2000.
He
said:
"This
is groundbreaking stuff. I am unaware of any similar research and
hope this project will reveal many new issues that will benefit all
disabled people."
