Peugeot Launch Official Sports Accessory RangePeugeot have launched an official range of car styling and sports performance
accessories under the brand name Peugeot SP - the SP denotes sports pack.
It is aimed at a selective but growing group of new car customers who are keen to add a
touch of individuality to their cars but who also want the reassurance of using official
manufacturer's parts, and has the advantage of leaving the new car warranty unaffected.
The new Peugeot SP range consists of styling and
performance components and is the result of a twelve month development programme between
Peugeot product engineers and leading specialist equipment manufacturers such as Janspeed,
Cible, Zender and formula one suspension supplier Eibach.
The styling accessories
include spoilers, side skirts and a selection of high quality alloy and composite
finishers such as fuel filler covers, door handles and B post covers. Each has been
specifically designed and machined to fit seamlessly with the original lines of the car.
The styling is carried over into the interior where a
selection of alloy fittings, for example, hand brake covers, gear knobs and sill guards
can be chosen to heighten the sporty character of the car.
The performance
components such as the sports suspension lowering kit, Janspeed rear exhaust system and 16
inch alloy wheels are made to original manufacturer's specifications and have all been
tested at Belchamps, Peugeot's own proving ground in eastern France.
The first Peugeot SP products go on sale in July and are
designed for the 306 range of hatchbacks, saloons, estates and cabriolets. They will
quickly be followed by sports accessories for other Peugeot models.
Each component can be specified individually or a customer
can choose from one of three Peugeot SP sports packs, A, B or C, offering different levels
of equipment.
Prices will
range from £15 for composite body trims up to £2750 (including VAT) for a fully fitted,
top of the range C pack, consisting of front spoiler, rear apron, side skirts, twin
hi-beam headlamp kit, lowered suspension, Janspeed exhaust with alloy exhaust trim plus
alloy gear knob, handbrake, filler caps, door handles, roof aerial and sill guards.
The SP sports range will be available exclusively from
Peugeot dealers and will also be displayed on the Peugeot stand at forthcoming rounds of
the British Touring Car Championship.
At the launch of the new Peugeot SP sports range, Adrian
Mossop, Peugeot Accessory Development manager said:
"Peugeot has a reputation for producing performance
cars such as the 106GTI, 306GTI and 306DTurbo. The SP sports range of accessories has been
designed to reflect that reputation and allow customers to add some individuality in a way
which is sporty, stylish and in keeping with Peugeot's high engineering standards."
