Youngsters To Imagineer Jaguars Of The Future
Tomorrow’s
automotive engineers will be encouraged to design a car of the
future at an internet café run by Jaguar Cars at the Town and
Country Festival.
The
Coventry-based luxury car manufacturer will be looking to
encourage interest in car engineering at the show running over
the August Bank Holiday.
The
company will be a part of the Imagineering Fair, aiming to
promote engineering to children aged eight to 13.
Dick
Elsy, Jaguar Cars director of engineering, said:
“Our
interactive display aims to explode this myth and will
encourage children to touch, feel and explore the mysteries of
how things work.
“They
will be able to design, construct and take away their own
vehicle design on the day - a condensed and simplified version
of the rapid prototyping technique we actually use in the
design of Jaguar cars.”
The
Jaguar stand will feature an XK8 coupe and an XK8 saloon.
And
a Jaguar R1 Formula One racing car is expected to stimulate
interest in the display over the same weekend where drivers
Johnny Herbert and Eddie Irvine will be taking part in the
Belgian Grand Prix.
