The Guestbook is not just about finding old friends, you might also
want to post questions about the local area or make comment on a visit
to Coventry and Warwickshire. If you would like to post a message to the
guestbook please send them to : editor@cwn.org.uk
NOTE : For any enquiries where someone
is trying to find someone else we feel it better if you do know the people being sought to ask them first before passing on any information about them - remember they may not want to be found!

Spon Gate Primary School / Barr's Hill Secondary
School
Hi, my name is Adrienne Bertagnolli (née Taylor also Rogers).
I was brought up in Chester Street, Coventry and attended Spon Gate
Primary School (1970-77) and Barr's Hill Secondary School (1977-82).
I left Coventry in 1993, and would love to hear from any old friends who
remember me, even teachers!!!!
Mr Coombe, Miss Plackett, Mr Thomas, Mr George, Claire Davis (James),
Karen Boyle, Tracey Hine, Melanie Nesbit, Caroline Layburn, Peter Carter
please email me.
My name is Pat Whitehouse (née Rollason) and I
went to Churchfield from 1950 to1955.
I went to the reunion at the Leofric earlier this year, and was
delighted to see so many people and to recognize them after 52 years! I
would love to hear from anyone from the past.
I am retired, of course, and spend leisure time with my husband walking
the dog, and shopping. Isn't it funny how shopping for food gets
exciting when you get old, but wasn't when we were young! Perhaps the
fact that food was on ration when we were young, and even when it
stopped being rationed, it wasn't as good as it is now, with so much
foreign food,and such exciting options.
I attended Broad Street School 1956 to 1960, and have a few photos of
the Gilbert and Sullivan opera Iolanthe. They did quite a few
productions - all were great fun, and highlight of the year.
Mr Evans was the music teacher, Mr Neil Stare was the drama teacher
- 2 really good teachers. There was Gondolears , The Mikado, and a few
other gilbert and sullivan operas.
There was also a production of Ruth the Gleaner in the old Cathedral
ruins.
