Guestbook - January 2006
The Guestbook is not just about finding old friends, you might also
want to post questions about the local area or make comment on a visit
to Coventry and Warwickshire. If you would like to post a message to the
guestbook please send them to : editor@cwn.org.uk
NOTE : For any enquiries where someone
is trying to find someone else we feel it better if you do know the people being sought to ask them first before passing on any information about them - remember they may not want to be found!

CENTAUR ROAD PRIMARY SCHOOL |
|
I went to Frederick Birds School, Coventry from about 1956 to 1959. I left
Coventry in 1959. I am now living in Praze-an-Beeble, Cornwall.
In early December 2005 I returned to Coventry to celebrate my uncles
100th birthday (Ken Jones of Earlsdon). It was the first time I had been
back for over 12 years. I also managed to visit my old home in Powell
Road (off Burlington Road).
When I lived there I had a very close friend called Barry Williams (who
was affectionately known to us as 'Podge') who lived at no.77 Burlington
Road (almost opposite the corner shop - no longer a shop - once owned by
my grandmother- name of Ward).
When I left Coventry in 1959 (my father relocated from Daimler to a
company in Plymouth, Devon) I lost contact with Barry. I heard the
family had moved out of Coventry some years later but I always wondered
what happened to him. Another friend I recall from those times was
called Barry Aldrich (not sure of spelling). Does anyone know the
whereabouts of either of these two? |
