BEST DAYS OF YOUR LIFE!
I went to Bablake

No matter how poor we believed
our school days to be at the time it is undoubtedly true that
they are the best days of your life.

[18 JUL 01] TEMPLARS
/ WOODLANDS / BROAD STREET
I went to Templars
from about 1952 to 1958. Miss Dingley was one lovely teacher
that I remember. Another I remember, wore black leather boots,
and showed off plenty of leg - I think she knew what she was
doing! Sherene Schick was my girlfriend. On my birthday I was
given a crown (king for the day), Sherene was my queen. My
happiest school days were at Templars.
I then went on to Woodlands
- but hated every minute there.
After that I went on to
Broad
Street. That was an ok school. I knew the new school
builder, Jeff Adams, he was a mate of my brother, Mick (Killer)
Kiley. Jeff do pop in and see Mick, he isn't too well these
days.
Mr
Singh was my teacher, he whacked me so hard on the head, that I
saw stars - I didn't rate him as a good teacher.
I am also trying to find Barbara
May McAnneany, née Webb, formerly from Nuneaton, then Kingfield
Road, and onto Treherne Road, Radford. Anyone finding her can
have free caravan accommodation at the Seddon Motor Camp in
sunny New Zealand.
I am now 54.

[16 JUL 01] WHITWORTH
BOMBER
We are rebuilding an Armstrong
Whitworth Whitley bomber aircraft for the RAF Museum at Hendon.
The Whitley was one of the most important RAF aircraft at the
start of the war and carried the fight to Germany in the dark,
early days of World War Two.
It is a great pity that none of
these aircraft survived the war and there are now several
projects to resurrect the Whitley. Unfortunately, few
manufacturers drawings for the Whitley survive which is a great
hindrance.
The Whitley was made in Coventry
at the Baginton plant and we would like to appeal for any former
workers at the plant to get in touch – we would be very
interested to talk with them and are especially interested in
any details of the Whitley’s construction and any memories
they may have.

[08 JUL 01] DANNY
PECK - BOXER
I would like to know if you have
any information on the legend of Danny Peck - his real name was
John Parker. He was well known in Bedworth.
There was an article in the
Bedworth Echo. If anyone knows where I can get some information
about him I would be very grateful as he was my late dad's
relative.
I now live in Canada and people
ask me about him. My family were from Bedworth.
Thank you

[06 JUL 01] PEUGEOT
500 GL STATION WAGON
I was wondering if I would be
able to find a manual that would help me in the maintenance of a
1984 Peugeot 500 GL Station Wagon. A manual being a book that
has all the car's features outlined in detail along with
diagrams on how to repair it if need be.
Does anyone know where I can get
such a manual - maybe someone can direct me to a web site that I
can find the information I am looking for?
