[28 MAY 00] LOOKING FOR WENDY WILKINSON
I don't know how unusual or usual this letter may seem to
you, but I would like your assistance to help me find an old friend.
Back in 1963, I started writing to Wendy Wilkinson. Her
name was given to me by the Red Cross through my school. We were penpals for years and I
have only spoken to her once in all these years. Our lives took many roads and we became
separated and I have since lost her address in Coventry.
All I remember is she bought her parents home, married and
has a couple of children. I believe she may be in the medical field.
I am reaching out to anyone I can, to assist me. Any help
you provide me with is greatly appreciated.
Thankyou

[27 MAY 00] ARTHUR STARTIN OF ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH
I am hoping to get in touch with anyone who knew Arthur
Startin (my dad) who was born on 29 March 1927 in Nuneaton.
Sadly he died when I was 7, so I am now trying, without
much success, to gain some knowledge of his earlier years.
As far as work goes he spent several years in the Royal
Navy, followed by Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft. I believe he married a lady called Mae,
and
following divorce married Betty (my mum) and moved to Weymouth, where he worked for the
Devonish Breweries.
We returned to Nuneaton in around 1970.
If anyone remembers (even vaguely) Arthur Startin, or can
put me in touch with any of his school friends/colleagues I would be hugely grateful. I
believe he went to Stockingford school.
I look forward to hearing from someone soon.
Best wishes

[25 MAY 00] WYVERS IN CHERINGTON
As many people are now doing, I have been researching my
family tree and have come across some ancestors in Cherington, Warwick around 1843-1844.
Does anyone who might know the area recognise the surname
Wyver, if so perhaps you could pass on any info you have.
Thanks.

[15 MAY 00] LIMBRICK WOOD & WOODLANDS
My name is Ken Johnson. I went to Woodlands Comprehensive School
between 1958 and 1963. My primary school was Limbrick Wood (1953-58).
I remember many of my primary school coevals with greater
clarity than high school. I was in Malins house under Mr LEE and had friends in Stringer,
Perrins, McLaughlin, Smith-Clark among others I have since forgotten.
I left Coventry in 1965 and now live in Brisbane, Australia
and would like to hear from anyone who associates with the dates and schools mentioned.
I worked in Leamington Spa at PH WOODWARDS department
store. Some old friends were Beverly Speight, Malcolm Godson, Johnny Johnson, Charles
Allen (Leamington), Phil ???, Brian Henderson, Glenda Ford, Yvonne ??, Michelle and Louise
from OWEN OWEN and many more whose first names probably wouldn't mean much.
I still have many relatives in Coventry and visit every so
often although for only 5 to 6 weeks at a time.
I look forward to contacts from afar.

[14 MAY 00] FINHAM PARK & SIDNEY STRINGER
I went to Finham Park secondary school
in Coventry (1974-78) and then to Sidney Stringer
(1978-79). I now live in Dallas, Texas.
I am looking for Aqbal, Guinny. And also looking for David
Leonard who went to King Henry VIII.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of these old friends please
contact me.
Thank you.

[11 MAY 00] RESEARCHING GREAT GRANDFATHERS
I am researching two great grandfathers - Thomas Mills and
Charles Shenstone both of Coventry.
Thomas Mills is listed in my History of Warwickshire 1874
as a watch case maker residing at 83 Craven Street, Chapel Fields, Spon End. He married
Alice Collingbourne in 1879. He had nine children including my grandfather Thomas Mills.
My grandfather married Rebecca Shenstone (born 8 March
1882) whose father was Charles Shenstone (b 1861) and died in the 1950's. Charles had
about 7 children including at lease two sons - Arthur and William.
If anyone has any information on these people or if there
are any descendents living in the area I would appreciate hearing from them.
