- April 2000 [30 APR 00] EASTERN GREEN
I went to Eastern Green Infants School in Coventry
(1956-59), and then to Eastern
Green Junior School (1960-63).
I left the area in 1963 and now live in Australia.
I remember when the infants school was one room and when
the junior school was built. I went to school with Chris Wilson and Jean Roberts.

[25 APR 00] IN SEARCH OF HARRISON'S
I am trying to trace relatives of my Grandfather WILLIAM
HARRISON (and his father WILLIAM ) whose family lived in the BELL GREEN area of Coventry
around the turn of the century, and some until the 1950s.
If anyone has done a family history which traces them back
to HARRISONs in this area, I would be very pleased to hear from them.
Likewise if anyone has elderly relatives still living who
came from this area, particularly Old Church Road, Bell Green etc please have a word to
see if they knew any of the Harrisons.
I know the names of most of the relatives but have few
details of their descendants. Names I know are: Thomas, Albert, Frederick, Leonard,
Joseph, Elizabeth, James, Alexander, Norman and a few others too.

[24 APR 00] COUNDON COURT REUNION
I went to Coundon Junior School in
Coventry (1965-71) and then on to Coundon Court secondary
school (1971-76).
In 1971 Coundon Court was an all-girls school. Then it
mixed with Barkers Butts the year after.
Some of the girls were transferred to Coundon Court along
with already established mixed classes who were kept separate from us, last of the
all-girls.
We are holding a reunion
for girls who were admitted to Coundon Court in 1971 and as some of these were girls were
put into our classes from Barkers Butts we do not have them on the original school
registers.
We would be interested in hearing from anyone who thinks
they maybe one of these people. One of these girls was Suzanne Steadman.
We are also looking for Elaine Cashmore, Pretoria Radjonic,
Jeanette Booker, Julie Beesley and Janet Kietley.
We would be interested in hearing from people who might
know if any of our teachers are still around as we would like to invite them as well. The
Headmistress was Miss Foster, our English teacher was Miss Stevenson, History was Miss
Dark, to name a few.
Please email for details, giving a contact tel no. or email
or an address that I can write to. Don't forget your maiden name?

[21 APR 00] SEEKING STRINGER RELATIVES IN COVENTRY
Hello, my name is Paul Stringer. I was born in Coventry in
1946, the family emigrated to Australia in 1949, and we came to the States in the early
1960s.
I am an American now and I live in the suburbs of
Washington, DC.
Like a lot of people nowadays I'm pursuing family history.
I'm interested in
hearing from any Stringers or others in Coventry that are descended from my great great
grandfather, William Stringer, who was born in Foleshill in 1805 to Samuel Stringer and
Alice Eld.
William Stringer married Ann Burdit at Foleshill, St
Laurence in 1824 and they raised a fairly large family in Nunts Lane, Foleshill.
James Stringer, my great grandfather, was born in Foleshill
in 1827 and was married to Eliza Lomas at Coventry, Holy Trinity in 1853.
William Stringer, my grandfather, was born in Coventry in
1878 and was the last child of a large family that ran the Globe in Much Park Street from
the 1870s to the 1900s. He married Annie Bowron at Coventry, St Michael in 1904.
Any and all responses most welcome.
Regards
Paul Stringer < PaulDStringer@aol.com >
