[21 DEC 98] CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

I have just spent some time checking out the CWN.

I have yet to find a local site to match the Information, News and Views of
your participants. Well done CWN another great year.

[16 DEC 98] GREETINGS FROM WORTHING

I am a Worthing Sixth Form College student who has a big interest in Coventry as most of my mum's side of the family live in Holbrooks.

Both my sister and I were born at Walsgrave Hospital. I have now lived in Worthing for 10 years and only come up to Coventry very occasionally. I would just like to say that your website is very intresting and your web cams are good because I can see and recognise places I know.

Thank you very much for your time.

[15 DEC 98] PALMER FAMILY HISTORY

I am researching the name of Palmer, watchmaker, living in the Coventry area in the latter part of the 19th century. Any help would be much appreciated

[13 DEC 98] JAMES ANSTEY

James Anstey was my grandfather, who was a watch case maker. He died in the 1930, living with his daughter Edith, who married Tom Enstone.

I would like to know more about him and his ancestors; making local enquiries is difficult, since I live in Dorset. Have you any information, or can you suggest any sources, particularly those accessible over the Internet? I would be very grateful.

[06 DEC 98] ANOTHER EX COVENTRY KID - BOB ROGERS

My husband grew up in Coventry and most of his family are still there but I am having a lot of trouble researching his Mum's side of the family. Her surname was Elkington and she grew up around Tile Hill.

My husband's grandparents were William Rogers and Nellie Freeman, George Elkington and Edith Dawson. Another associated family name was Nixon. If anyone can help with the research, it would be lovely to hear from them.

My husband's name is Bob Rogers and he grew up in Stoke Aldermoor, (182 Whitworth Ave) attending Aldermoor Farm Primary around 1956-1961 and Stoke Secondary Modern from around 1961-1965.

We'd love to hear from anyone who remembers him, especially Martin Paul Newport (alias Bill), whose dad (Bert) was caretaker at Radford Territorial Army Base in Radford Road around 1965.

We live in Australia now but would love to visit Coventry again one day. It's over 30 years since we left. It's been wonderful to look through all the old messages and see so many familiar place names, what a great web site!
