More Flood Warnings As Heavens Open
Flood
warnings have been issued across Warwickshire after yet more heavy
rain saw water levels rise.
The
occupants of a car in Kenilworth had to be rescued from the ford by
the castle after becoming stick in deep water.
Problems
were also reported on the A452 at Chesford Bridge between Leamington
and Kenilworth.
Today
the Environment Agency announced flood warnings for the River Leam and
the River Avon.
There
were also flood watches – the less serious alert – issued for the
rivers Anker, Cole, Blythe and the lower Avon Valley.
Roads
in north Warwickshire and Rugby were also impassable as the rain added
to the already high water levels.
A
spokeswoman for Warwickshire police said there were no reports of
congestion in the early morning rush hour, but motorists were urged to
take care when driving.
More
rain has been predicted for much of the country later today,
