An interesting little anomaly
popped up in the CWN access stats for December.
Sitting there innocently at number seven in the top pages was a news article: 'Ann Summers Opens
Store In Coventry'.
This is quite unusual for an individual news story to make it into the monthly top ten.
CWN now has around 20,000 pages and the top spots usually go to the WebCam, the main Sky
Blues page, the guestbook, jobs etc.
What was even more odd was the Ann Summers story was from 10 June last year.
So what's made this page suddenly jump into the spotlight?
Sex of course - the article in it's opening line mentions 'lingerie and sex toys'. It
then goes on to mention 'sex shops' four times in the rest of the article - not excessive
in a 600 word article.
I can only guess that one of the major search engines has just picked up the Ann
Summers page.
And, well, you can guess the rest...
Reviewing the monthly access statistics for CWN is always interesting - always
something to catch the eye.
One good one just squeezed in at the end. Up to midnight on New Year's Eve over 600
people logged onto the CWN WebCam to watch the celebrations in Broadgate.
I'm glad CWN could play its part in the festivities for all you who couldn't be here.
And there's one more really big thing that came out of the stats - but I won't announce
that until tomorrow!
What else did I do today. Well I interviewed another potential web designer, I got
invited to do three days training in Brussels and I made macaroni cheese in the new
microwave that I picked up in the sales for £45.
And there were a few dozen other things but I'll tell you about them another day.
