The
Hillfields Area Co-ordination Team is launching its draft Area Plan for public
consultation on Wednesday 17 February 1999 at the new Village Square in the heart of
Hillfields. The new Plan will take Hillfields into the millennium.
Cllr Harry Richards, representative for St. Michaels Ward, said:
"This is an important document for everyone who lives in Hillfields. I hope that
everyone will take the opportunity to look at the proposals and give us their
comments."
The launch will take place at the Village Square in Victoria Street, Hillfields, at
2.00 p.m. on Wednesday 17 February. Local children from St. Benedicts RC Primary
School will help to celebrate the launch with entertainment laid on by Coventry Community
Circus, which is based in Hillfields.
The Draft two-year plan covers a wide range of issues affecting the lives of local
people in Hillfields. There are 129 separate actions covering Jobs and Training, the
Environment, Health, Community Safety, Arts , Leisure and Sport, Older People, Early
Years, Youth and Community Development.
The Plan has been prepared with the help and support of WATCH Ltd., which is the
organisation representing community interests in Hillfields.
The consultation period will run until Friday 26 March.
