On
Monday 5 July there will be a chance for people to discuss the current situation in Iraq.
At Queens Road Baptist Church in Coventry at 7.30pm. Andrea Needham will be talking about
her recent visit to Iraq in the media at the moment despite the suffering caused by the
continuing bombing and continued use of sanctions.
Andrea said
"In a hospital ward in Basrah, we were present when a child died of
gastro-enteritis a perfectly curable condition. The wailing and crying of not just
the childs mother, but all the mothers in the ward, brought home the real impact of
sanctions in a way no amount of statistics could."
The evening has been arranged by members of Coventry peace House, who also take part in
a vigil outside the Belgrade Theatre every Wednesday 5pm til 7pm, which has been
highlighting the issue for the past 18 months.
