[04 FEB 00] COVENTRY NORTH EAST RADIO PRESS RELEASE
Volunteers Sought For Community Radio Station

New Group founded to bring community radio to Bell Green, Wood End and Henley Green

Residents of the Wood End, Bell Green and Henley Green areas are being invited to take part in an exciting new project to introduce a community radio station in the north east of Coventry.

Coventry North East Radio is being planned to act as a voice for people in the area and will bring together people from the different areas. People from other parts of the city who want to get involved are also more than welcome.

A steering group has been set up to develop a new station which aims to harness the skills of local residents with a combination of talk radio and music to suit all tastes. A visit to Vale FM radio station in Castle Vale is being organised so that the group can get hands-on experience of working on a similar radio station.

The group is now looking for local volunteers who want to get involved in all aspects of programming, with training being provided to all those wishing to participate. Any interested in participating can contact Bob or Steve.
