MAR 99] ALCOHOL ADVISORY SERVICE IN COVENTRY PRESS RELEASE
Alcohol Awareness - Fact and FictionThe
Alcohol Advisory Service in Coventry are looking for volunteers.
The initial training will be a 30 hour course in the
evenings and on Sundays in May. The course will be open to others and all successful
participants will receive an award from the Open College Network for Central England.
Penny Walker from the Alcohol Advisory Service said:
"Most of us have some knowledge of alcohol but this
course will involve looking at issues around alcohol in a stimulating way. Why does
alcohol feature so much in domestic violence? How much does the Government get from
alcohol tax? What is problem drinking?
"Many people will gain from doing this course, and our
volunteers will develop a good understanding to inform their work with us."
Anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer should
contact Penny on 01203 226619.
