We are crying out for new members. After months of hard work changing the structure and character of Coventry Eighteen Plus, to make it more applicable to young adults we now need your help!

Eighteen Plus as an organisation for young adults but dates back to 1941 and over the las few years has suffered through falling membership nation-wide. With this in mind and the knowledge that there is nothing to take the place of 18 Plus in Coventry, the group has been subject to some radical changes. That hard work needs your help – we need a radical influence of young blood, especially female – people interested in playing an active part in the clubs development and bringing fresh ideas with them.

What We Are At Present:

We are a social and activities organisation for young adults aged 18 – 36. What we offer is basically what you want. The group is voluntarily run for its members by its members – which gives everyone the chance to create their ideal club.

Some of the activities we have took part in recently include, Paintball, Lazer Quest, Archery, Cinema, Video Nights, AMMO (Annual Mad Mini Olympics) – It’s A Knockout, Night Walks, Parties, Barbecues, Dances, Night Clubs, Bowling, Basketball, an Entertainment’s Weekend in Norfolk and Pub Socials. There is something for everyone, including raising money for charity by mad cap events, such as camping over Britain’s most haunted house, to supported training days – promoting leadership, team-work and personal development.

Coventry 18 Plus is part of the National Federation of 18 Plus Groups. Its aim is to encourage and motivate young adults to develop themselves socially, physically and intellectually, within a national social network providing fun activities and community involvement.

Coventry 18 Plus To Be National Test Bed:

Ever wanted to play a part in designing and developing your own organisation? This is your chance, we are open to all suggestions – join us and help us provide Coventry with a club for young adults that we serve both them and the city into the next millennium. It must be reiterated – this can only be done with the help of the young people in Coventry. We are looking at everything from a name change to developing a new group logo, to building on the number of ambitious young members we currently have.

Where To Find Us:

We meet every Wednesday, from 8.45pm onwards at ‘The Gas Sports and Social Club’, Middleborough Road, Coundon (rear of Central Fire Station). Anyone interested in finding out more is welcome.
